Mastering The Five Scrum Events (Workshop Virtual ao Vivo, 2 sessões de 3 hrs cada)

30 e 31 de Julho, das 09:30 às 12:30

Perhaps the most important element to Scrum and Agile is the enthusiasm for communication, openness and transparenc. These factors underpin everything we do in ourdaily work using Agile and Scrum practices; they are why we value customer collaboration over contract negotiations and why we're not afraid to respond to change as we know that feedback is important.

There are five main scrum events:

  • Sprint Planning
  • Daily Scrum
  • Sprint Review
  • Sprint Retrospective
  • The Sprint

Agile approaches only asks that we learn from our mistakes and/or identify new ways to improve. As one of the principles of the Agile Manifesto states:

"At regular intervals, the team reflects on how to become more effective, then tunes and adjusts its behaviour accordingly."

It is this call for open communication that Scrum encourages us to hold five key events during a Sprint, all intended to help us work efficiently and closely together, as well as to improve our knowledge and become more effective in the future.

These five scrum events are:

  • Sprint Planning - The process of selecting which items to work on during the sprint is done during the sprint planning meeting.

  • Daily Scrum - The daily stand-up is a daily meeting of no more than 15 minutes where each member of the team gives a brief update of how their work is progressing.

  • Sprint Review or Demo - At the end of a sprint, the SCRUM Master will organize a sprint demo / review where the items of the sprint that have just ended can be shown to key stakeholders.

  • Sprint Retrospective - Scrum teams will hold a retrospective meeting at the end of each sprint so that all team members can give input on what is working well and what is not working well.

  • The Sprint - The Sprint is the heart of Scrum and a container for all other events.

Apart from "The Sprint", the other events are an opportunity for inspection and transparency. They allow teams the chance to examine what is working and to improve efficiencies. Therefore, not scheduling these other four events would result in less inspection, less transparency, less opportunity for the team to improve.

All are crucially important in their own right and it is for that reason that this intensive Hands-On Workshop is a must attend for all Agile Coach, Agile Team Facilitators, Agile Team Leaders, Scrum Masters and Development Team Members. Product Owners are also welcome.

In order to make some of the events more interesting, we will use Agile games to turn learning to be more effective.
